abs module replacement code c2216
hey guys wanted to put this out here for anyone that could use the info.
For a while i had the abs light and ''asc off'' light intermittently appear. The codes to the issue were the following: c2216, U1417, c121c, u0401
c2216 being the problem and the other codes a result of it.
Basically, its a common problem for the 2010 evo x abs module (hydraulic pump motor abs) to fail.
not to be confused with the ayc pump also known to fail
To fix the issue you must replace the module itself. after a lot of digging, you can use any other 2008 to 2015 abs pump (for the evo)(not sure if GSR and MR pumps are compatible, but probably)
the module
codes
to replace it.
I waited a long time to find one on eBay (340$ used 2014 module) because new from Mitsubishi it is basically 2500$
Install was pretty easy but sadly you need a good scanner that can actuate the solenoids in the module and do calibrations so you need to:
A) bleed the entire brake system including the new abs module
B) recalibrate SAS, G sensor, YAW rate sensor (lateral g sensor) M\C pressure, cut pressure, and inlet pressure.
To do so I Bought the Xtool A30M scanner for 300$ CAD which is a well-worth investment
for the future in my opinion.
Overall took me 2h in manual labor 10 mins of calibration.

Good info in here and sorry for bumping an old thread.
Was the A30 you bought a stand alone scanner?
I bought the A30M, which is the Bluetooth dongle version, it won’t let me bleed the ABS pump with it.
