Hello everyone, (especially the ones with black cars) i just want to ask how you wash your ralliart/evo? i used to have the black lancer GT and i see some scratches after going out at the carwash, i just want to avoid that now.

so my question is:

1. How do you wash a black car properly?
2. What should you avoid on the car when using a wand wash? (was wondering about the hood vents)
3. Do you use the foam brush?
4. What do you use for drying the car? (especially on black ones)

So, thank you for taking your time reading this, i just wanted to do it perfectly now and avoid any scratches from washing the car. Sorry for being so noob about this, it's my 2nd time having a black car.

As someone has already stated, regularly waxing your car will make a huge difference in your car's appearance-there's even waxes made specifically for black cars. I personally never use a foam brush, but that's just personal preference.

Something I would suggest looking into is a "foam wash gun", it's a good tool as a PRE-wash since it removes most of the dirt so it prevents scratching your paint by rubbing dirt into your car.

As for drying, I know this sounds silly, but using something similar to a leaf blower or a leaf blower itself is a good tool to dry off a car. Using the "sheet rinse technique" is a good technique in combination to the leaf blower tool and then just using a microfiber towel to pat dry some of the left over water streaks. Most people mess up their car's paint while they're drying off the car, not necessarily the washing techniques but the drying technique itself ruins a car's wash if done improperly. That's why the leaf blower becomes useful because it minimizes the amount of contact you make with the car while drying it.
