There is an article in Import Tuner where they interview the vice prez of Jun Auto. They ask him about the GTR, and he says something like : "Its a hard egg to crack, right now i am enjoying the Evo X, it will be faster around the circut!".
So I guess Evo X FTW

^^^^ Yeah they said that Nissan is trying to control everything. The JDM version has a black-box which reads rpm, speed, etc. It has GPS, and if you go to a track, it asked you if you want to take off the limiter of 180kph( 112 mph), if you do , your warranty is voided. (GTR)

Whoa that's some serious camber on that Evo.
No, after you have finished your track time you must take it to a special Nissan dealer for them to do a full inspection of the car. If you fail to take it to one of the select dealers in Japan that do that then they can choose to deny a warranty claim.
It's not a cheap inspection either, from what I remember reading it was about 1000USD.

I'll dig through the stuff I've read about the GT-R, I believe it was in C&D or R&D or maybe SCC but it did mention the post-track inspection @ a few select dealers in JDM-land.

"What do you think about the new GT-R? It's a very difficult car. Nissan is trying to over manage and control everything. When you purchase the GT-R[in Japan] they make you sign a contract saying that you won't modify the car. In Saitama, there are only tree places to take the GT-R in for repairs. The GT-R has black box like a flight recorder on planes that reads and records speed, rpm, and so on. If a GT-R goes onto a racetrack, the GPS sensors on the car detect it and will ask whether or not you want to go into Circuit mode disabling the 180km/h govener. Activating the Circuit mode will void the warranty. Any sort of after service is also currently limited to Nissan dealers,so as far tuning, everything is up in the air."
"I am confident that the EVO X will be way faster than the new GT-R on the circuit."
