The Ultimate Aggressive Wheel Thread... Evo X Style
#2446
These are actually awesome looking. Why is wrong with XXR? Just cheap wheels? I hear people flame Rotas all the time but never XXRs...these just as bad?

Lot of Evo guys do not like wheels that cost less than $2-3000 but I don't really mind it at all. I have not heard anything bad about the XXR's so far. And yes they are cheap wheels. Not to sure of the building process of the wheels but they do seem very well built and are pretty decent on the weight. I was definitley surprised how good they looked when they arrived.

rota's are track proven and are fairly cheap. xxr's are really cheap. i haven't heard anything about xxr's and track use. if you're just DD'ing your X, i'm sure they're fine. i would definitely go with the rota's though if i were tracking my X, as i've heard nothing about the xxr's durability, and i know i've read they're heavier than shlt. DD'ing, i'd probably save up and bite the bullet and go for some sexy advans.

basically, it goes like this... if you are paying $36k for a car, it's looked down upon to put cheap *** wheels on it. BUT, i'm not going to drop 3k on a set of wheels i'm taking to the track...

looks like a few places list them at 22lbs for the size you got. you're right, they're not that heavy.
still would take a set of rota's over these any day of the week. but oh well, like you said, your car your money... that's all that really matters.

duhveed nice shots. That area looks familiar, as I was just out in SoCal between Simi and Malibu) last week on business.
A buddy of mine has matte black18x9.5 22 offset TEs on his GG, and I love the look but want to go a little bit wider. I like the Rota Grids in 18x10 but the Volks have a much different face and spoke shape. I'm torn between saving the money for the real deal but fear getting bending or damaging them, or just get a couple set of Rotas for the track and street, plus wouldn't care about messing them up.
