Your perception of "4x4" height and functionality is misguided.
For people like myself who live in Michigan and like to have functional cars, we prefer not to use our cars as plow trucks. I like to be able to pull out of my driveway without using 2x4's as handicap ramps. It's also assuring knowing that if I hit a bump or wave in the road, my front lip won't be torn up to pieces.

I agree with this.. 265's should be the bare minimum for the Evo X. Mitsu blessed this car with some really wide fenders! Why not utilize that? Don't believe me? Go and see how wide a stock X wheel (stock bbs or stock enkei from an X) looks on a Evo 8/9! It looks flush as hell on the 8/9! But it's skinny on the X. Just saying... Everyone has their preference, but I would like to see a nice meaty tire thread on here.
