Hey guys hate to be that guy. But the rims I am buying are
XXR 550 18x 9.75+ 19 5X114.3
The backspacing is what confuses me they are 6.125 will these fit the evo?
I seen someone rocking them but wasn't sure about the clearance on the brakes and wanted to know if that sounds right.

My bad I meant 18s not 19s. That's what I get for typing from my phone. Post corrected..
Hmm. First: stock wheel is 18. You said, "I recently bought new tires for my stock wheels. They are 255/40/19." 19 will not fit an 18" wheel.
Second: size is 18X8.5. You said, "My question is I want to get 8x10 wheels and wondering if the 40 series will give me issues with rubbing? Will the 10 width stretch the tires?" No way a 8" wheel will fit on a Evo, son. And you wouldn't have to bother about stretching because the wheel wouldn't be tall enough to reach from the bottom of the inside of the tire to the top. It would be 10" too short.
Maybe you aren't familiar with your car and should do some research. But if you just threw those numbers out there, not consulting your owner's manual or looking at the tires, then you should trade the car in for a donkey. You couldn't **** that up. Then again, I guess you could by feeding it the wrong whatever a donkey eats.
But on a helpful note, and assuming that you are not dyslexic, maybe you typed in the wrong numbers?

yea its not staggered its the same size wheel all around. I was just confused about the backspacing if it will clear the brembos. I don't want order the wheels and tires only to find they don't fit and then I am out of luck cause no spacers for me.

I never understood why people dont like spacers, anything less than a 15mm isnt going to damage anything. I ran 25mm on all four corners for two years and i didnt even need an alignment when i switched to my Advans. Its like i tell my kid, just try it ull like it.

Lol. We forgive you. Yes, the 10" will stretch the tire. As for rubbing, I am not sure because a part of that will depend on the offset that you are running. Nothing that a little roll won't fix. I am running 18X10.5 with 275/35/18 and they are stretched. Had to go with -2 degrees camber, rolled rears, and cut a piece of the rear tabs to make it work. Had to bend the tab on the front fender and trim the plastic part of the bumper to make that work, too, but it still rubs when turning on louisiana's pristine driving surfaces in leesville. Trust me, these roads were made only for military vehicles! Oh, and the car is lowered on BC coil overs and lowered about 2.75" in front😊

Spacer belong on show cars only IMO. i had ichiba 20mm spacers on my VIII with RPF1 wheels and hub centric rings. Installed properly and torqued correctly. Within 40 miles i noticed a horrible wobble. Checked my wheel and the spacer had backed out almost all the way. I could have died on the highway. Never again.
