just because you guys cant understand why the intake cost so much, doesnt mean everyone on the board has to be like "OMG!! 1800! OMG! wtf!? are you stupid?!"

most high end JDM intakes are 900-3200 dollars

reasons:

they are dry carbon and weigh absolutely nothing
they are sexy as all hell
they are rare
they are made to extract the most power from the car. So you're paying for that extra little bit. Every little bit counts and every pound of weight off the car counts.

plus for 1800, im pretty sure it came with the carbon cooling tray

carbon isnt cheap

AT LEAST FOR THE EVO YOU GET POWER GAINS!

carbon intakes for the s2000 are just as expensive and have 1-5hp gains

lol

Also, the items from Japan will be even more expensive due to exchange rates, importation fees, and shipping fees as well This intake is amazing for those that can afford it

Is it me or are there two versions of this intake. I also saw Coltspeed offering what looks like the exact same unit but with their name plate replacing the Gruppe-M plate. Is Gruppe-M and Coltspeed the same company?

i agree on the carbon comment. it's so lightweight and the best quality. japan uses the best carbon fiber money can buy. very functional too, no heat from the engine bay, completely cool air sucked in.

as for shipping charges and freight, yeah that was a big chunk of it. ah well, not breaking my wallet.

and the colt speed looks very similar. it's about 300 bucks more, but they look like the same piece. dunno on that one...

thanks man. glad we figured out that the spacer in the sensor caused CEL's.

if anyone gets this intake, be sure to take off the sensor spacer if you tune the car. it's caused a huge headache for me

I had a GruppeM intake on my Honda R. It was ....although i believe cold air intake is much more beneficial to an NA than a Turbo....(i.e. better IC would probably give more gains)...

Does the Evo GruppeM use a K&N style filter also? I heard the K&N filter oil could cause issues with our MAF sensor...or is that only if u over oil it!???

Hey bro,

Go for the GruppeM for your X. It is really cool... I have seen it in the flesh.

This product is about the looks and quality finish more than the number of ponies you can get from your bucks.

I would got for it if I strike 4D.
