glanced through the article, pretty heavy stuff. I'm a materials engineer by education but we took some fluid dynamics courses. appears like the vg works regardless of a wing. my biggest concern about them was if they worked with only the sss wing or if it worked with the low wing too (i have the low wing). but from what i can tell, it smooths out the airflow regardless which provides less aerodynamic drag. the better airflow enhances the use of a wing. so basically you'd get some aerodynamic effect without a wing but better with one. any technical people out there that can back me up on this?

VG helps thin out the boundary layer that thickens as the air travels from the beginning of the surface to the end of the surface. By placing the VG near the middle or the end of the air flow, it helps increase the speed of the air flow at that point and thin outs the air to reduce drag and spread the air over the wing to cover more surface area.
