I don't think it was a fitment issue, it was a matter of the quality control at the the casting company. The samples weren't up to AMS' standard, hence the wait time. Mine fits great and has performed exceptionally well. All throughout the season, whether at a T/A or doing 30 minute HPDE sessions, the whole setup ran amazing. The heat management of the kit should be of note...we've ran both prototypes extremely hard and in some serious temperatures...without any heat issues. The other kits on the market may be fine on the dyno, but have any of them been SERIOUSLY tested on track? I'm not being biased towards AMS...that's a real question. With so much crammed back there and the exposed tubular manifold of other kits, there WILL be heat-related issues on a road course...I'm not sayin the car will burn down instantly but there will be issues when pushed HARD. This part of the whole turbo kit equation is so overlooked in the Evo X community, people need to look beyond a simple dyno number or a "sick" looking manifold. It gets hot as **** back there...pic below. It's your car, obviously, so do what you want but make sure you do some research and make sure whatever you end up buying has been thoroughly tested...somewhere other than a dyno.

Performance-wise...the kit is perfect

I think this is coming to light more right now... there have been some tubular manifolds that have been melting electronic plugs (mivec plug??) back there. Some have been scrambling to heat wrap their tubular manifolds. All to gain a few more whp on bigger turbos. Sounds like more headache than it's worth. I wonder how AMS' cast manifold compares to a ported & polished stock manifold?

Either way, you're 100% right in asking that question. Very few have pushed their Xs like you have. Thanks for the mini review.

AMS usually comes out with top s***. I just dont get why its taking them so long to release their cast 35R kit. Having their cast manifold v-band from all sides was an awesome idea! (should make for a quick/easy install)

Quality control issues with their casting companies...AMS has it's standards.

And the Vband makes changing turbos easy...ask me, I know how haha.
