I will say this: the Z is faster stock for stock, and even an exhaust on a X won't be enough to even out the game, but the tune is what changes things drastically. A X with a tune and NOTHING else will beat a 370 convincingly in the straights. Add an UICP (good for 10 whp) and full exhaust (good for ~20 w/ test pipe) and it will be an embaressment.
While there are certainly things that I like about the Z (like the fact that it has a bigger engine, a proper RWD setup, and the cockpit feel of a coupe), it just doesn't have the modability of a turbocharged engine built for high boost, and that really prevents it from achieving greatness unless you are prepared to spend big bucks on a turbo conversion and motor build.
If you're gonna go NA, you really need a V8+ to have convincing power levels without boost, period. If it were me, I would've bought a used Z06, but that's just me. Either way, congrats on your purchase. If YOU like it, then that's all that matters.

Congrats on the purchase man..I've been wanting to get the 370z for sometime now, unfortunately I've already purchased a 2009 accord coupe v6 back in late 08. The the 370z are freakin sexy as hell. I love low and wide cars getting away from the bulky four doors. Nonetheless, I still love Evo's from a performance stand point. The 370z is just as quick in the 1/4 as the X stock for stock and has a higher trap speed. The only thing I don't like is how expensive the parts are for the car, but you got to pay to play. Well, the Evo guys better watch out cause Greddy, and GTM just came out with their turbo kits which have been tested to push around 450+whp on 91oct. @ 7psi.Yikes..

i agree with you STi2evoX 100%, and its def going to be a challenge to get the Z whereI want it power wise, specially because its still a new car with not many aftermarket parts out, not like the X.
im not planning on keeping the Z na, but for now it will be until more reliable kits come out.
zo6 are sick, just not my taste, and would love a new m3, but dont have the money for one. and yes i love the z and has potential, so we'll see what happens, ill keep you all posted
