I've seen some pics here of 245/40/18's on a 9.5 rim and the sidewall looks pretty streched but other pics where it looks fine. Must be different tire manufacturer variances.

Would it be a bad idea to take corners agressively if I put the stock Advan tires on 18x9.5 +15 rims? Is it goin to handle like crap or be dangerous?

Thanks.

^ good question from digitalskillz-
I get my RPF1's on Wednesday 18x9.5 +15 SBC with some hankook v12 Evo 245/40/18 tires and I too wondered if It would affect my handling and or cornering?

I take aggressive turns when I drive spirited and I'm running 18x9.5 +15 RPF1's with 265/35 Hankook v12's. My rear-end gives out 90% of the time...don't know why...I pretty much drift the corners.

Edit: Lowered on Eibach's.

**** dude. That doesn't sound to good. Well do u have any mods could it be all ur power making ur rear end give out? Cuz all I got is exhaust and intake. I hope mine doesn't get ****ty or else it's a fatter tires and a possible fender roll. I'm trying to avoid rolling fenders.

The tires sux. Too over rated in the Evo forum. Hankook V12 have very soft side walls. I regret buying them. I had the Nitto nt05 before, very little body roll and stiff side walls.

i haven't tested the limits of my tires yet but yea, i had an unexpected drift on an onramp and almost hit the curb. scared the **** out of me because I wasn't going extremely fast. Any other tires around that price range that has better grip?

Good info! I'm about to get my rpfs on Wednesday, what tire do u think I should get? I use my car all day everywhere it's my daily driver n I love it. But I want a good tire with good tire life, good grip and very low noise levels I hate loud tires lol

Yeah, it's happened a few times already. I think it's the garbage tires as mentioned by Gqracer. I'd defo look into a better set. But as far as width on the wheel, 9.5 is fine. 10.5 is better though, obv. And I'm stock, no mods at all. I blame it on the tires.

Bought my first set of hankook tires for winter because they were the only set of snows available. Ride is pretty nice but performance is well below the D3s I had last winter. Soft side wall but low grip comparitively.

Probably a good DD tire but would look for something different for track

Quick question, the tires that were on my X when I got it had the Potenza re 960 pole positions- 265-35-18.. if I'm gettin' rpf1s in 18x9.5 +15 will I need fender modifications if I keep these tires? Or should I get some new rubbers more for summer driving considering I'm in FL and get a 255? Don't really want to roll the rears.

Thanks

Yeah, you'll probably need the rears rolled depending on the suspension set up.
