Im racing my X basically the following mods.
modified turbo inlet for the 34 mm restrictor plate with stock airbox - MBC - "upper" intercooler pipe only - Cams MX1 - Tune - exedy triple pack clutch /single disk/ - Other wise the car is BONE stock. I have 14 K miles in it.

So the real problem for me with my X is : its not an RS.
Sadly in the US you cant buy an RS, so i have to deal with some problems because of that.
First of all the ABS is very dangerous on loose surface in racing. So We have to get rid of it. And unlike all the evo's before, you can not get rid of it,with one fuse pull out fix.
The ABS is integrated to the S-AWC system . Also the X reads speed from it.
So its almost impossible to take out the ABS. Unless you completely you get rid of the stock ECU.
So far nothing failed on the X , besides the MAF sensor. Which is a pure miracle, if you think about it the race we do with it.
Brand new platform - car etc. and strong as hell. Fact the first TARMAC rally we blow the race suspension and we finished it with the STOCK one . We finished that rally in our category in 3rd place. We blown the suspension the first 20 miles and we did run the rest 100 + with the stock one LOL. Still we have it as a spare if something happens...

Now the replacement parts are not a problem anymore , you can get anything for the X.
Some parts harder to repair or reach some is easier then the older ones. so that is neutral.
But the wire harness doesn go outside in the fenders like the older ones .

I have an 08 evo X , with no griding tranny and so on so forth. but i lost my aero package and front rubber lip though...

Other wise a car is perfect so far.

Have you tested the ASC setting at all? Like whether its better partially off(press once) or completely off(hold for three seconds)?

Glad to see the car running and doing well....keep it up and keep us posted

yes i did , and i have a note on the pace book just before the start ./ We have a check list before we pull to the start line./

And one point is : ASC OFF

I'm turning the ASC completely off, hold over 3 sec. I think that is the fastest set up on the stockish car.
It shots all the unnecessary nannies off .

Great to see the X in its own element, and those are some great driving skills! I'm really not surprised that you lost the aero kit, the engineers were snoozing when it was designed...

Interesting about the maf, did it go gradually or it crapped out after a heavy impact?

I ripped mine off once per month and finally gave up on it.

Tha MAF just simply failed with free will. Not once.
Since i swapped the HKS panel filter to the K&N one. i have no issue so far. /over a year now.
