Carbon Fiber Repair
Did a rookie move the other day and the end result was a crack in my front lip. Do you guys think something like this can be repaired and if so how should I go about doing so?

to repair that in a presentable end result, a new layer of carbon has to be overlaid on top. the pattern won't match (it can be close), and the materials/labor to cover that big of an area would easily reach north of 200 range. surfboard repairs are used to small cracks and dings, i can imagine those costing 100 or less. not for this magnitude.
i've tried that type of repairs for a customer before, never fully liked the end result because there will always be a visible break in the weave.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm having a surfboard repair shop take a look at it and ill go from there. If it comes down to me having to paint it black then so be it but there's no way I'm paying $500 for a new front lip.

Well, you can contact MAcarbon and see what they can do for you. I know it says they do Ferrari, Lambo parts but they will do anything that has to do with carbon fiber. I contacted them about fixing my do-luck cf trunk, it was a bit pricey though...

How about you repair it until it's smooth and then wrap it in 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fiber vinyl wrap.

same thing happened to me with my do-luck lip a couple of weeks ago. Guy slams on his brakes, I swerve and lip hits a curb.
Anyway I took it to a body shop and estimated at $300 to repair and paint. just waiting for my new fender liner to take it. not bad I guess, paid $600 for the lip, and it wont look bad in flat black.
