I think the front pops out, but you have to heat it up real well... If I recall I read where someone drilled a swall hole in the plastic behind the front emblem then after heating it up they pushed it out so it didn't break...
car looks like a regular lancer, honda, mazda, with out the emblems.. imo
I wouldn't use goo gone.. I was told it "etches the paint"

I think almost everyone uses it and it turns out fine.. the guy working on my car told me that, and I was thinking the same as you.. seems to turn out fine, but I could see how it could remove the wax then get in the paint.. i dunno, good question for the detailer forum i guess

yeah, a more chemically knowledgeable person than me would have a better answer. But my guess is that goo gone is not caustic enough to remove the clearcoat over the paint.
A while back i ran over a black spray paint can in my blue STi. Got little black dots all over my rear bumper. I used Paint Thinner to get the black dots off, worked like a charm and didn't affect the clearcoat or car paint at all. Granted I was just wiping a painthinner soaked rag on the car but still...

I use goo gone to remove badges. After Im done I use rubbing alcohol to clean the area and then wipe it clean with a microfiber. After that I use some scratch x to help buff out any small scratches and fading that are there from removing the badge, and then a coat of wax on the whole area. It looks good and usually you cant tell the badge was ever there.
