PODI Boost Gauge with Rexspeed CF pod w/pics
I was in the market for a boost gauge, and decided to try something different then the Defi Racer. A couple of Audi guys I know swear by PODI, so I went that route. Price, quality, and customer service are excellent. And I love the look of the gauge.. very much an OEM feel.
It even has a remote to change the color! A warning, and peak value setting too. And good instructions. These guys are tailored to Audi and VW, but I’m hoping they starting gearing towards Mitsu also.
I also picked up the Rexspeed Carbon Fiber gauge pod. It’s nice looking, but I was a bit disappointed in the fitment of it. If you look closely, you’ll see a gap where it meets the dash. For $100.. there shouldn’t be a gap in my opinion.

Installation is very straight forward.
There’s 2 sets of wire packets. One is for the gauge itself (top left in my picture), and the other is the Sensor wires.
The Gauge Wires hook up like this: Yellow to hot constant, Black to ground, Red to hot ignition, and Orange connects to the Sensor’s White wire. The other end, with the white clip, plugs into the gauge itself.
Sensor Wires: Black to ground, Red to hot ignition and White to Orange Gauge wire as mentioned above.
“Tee” your boost line, and plug the rubber hose into the tee, then the other end into the sensor. (If you look closely on the pic, you’ll see the copper of the red wire is touching where the hose plugs into on the sensor.
They included 2 lengths of rubber hose, so you can choose where you want the sensor located.. short hose if it’s under the hood. Long hose if it’s in the cabin.

Yeah Rexpeed's products aren't that great IMO. Ordered at lip spoiler from them and the paint job was horrible. Worse of all, if you ship it back to them, they're all the way in Taiwan, so it takes forever and costs and fortune.

Just thought I'd link you guys to my thread on the issues I had with installing an AEM digital boost gauge into the Rexspeed carbon fibre steering wheel gauge pod: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...arbon-pod.html
