The lighting and flash made the red look a little lighter in the second photo. Its a dark tomato red in reality...

Ehhh. I personally never cared for changing the symbol color. But I think it looks better than the blacked out symbol that most people do.

I changed mine to a candy red color. It looks really good but I prolly need to redo now. It looks just like the Mr symbol. And I did it like you and left the edges chrome.

Thanks guys!

I just used red sign vinyl and went over top of the original emblem, that way I dont have to screw around with taking the emblem off and if I get bored of it..... I just peel it off!

Some carbon vinyl emblems I've seen have looked incredibly clean. Looks good man! Huge step above chrome, that stuff sucks.

So how did you do this? Or is it just a sticker over it?

Basicly yes, its outdoor sign vinyl, I cut out the shape of the emblem and stuck it on. The crapy thing is good quality sign vinyl isnt sold in small quantities so I have a lot left over. Still beats painting and sanding though.

Nicely done. And the best part about it is that it probably cost you next to nothing! Lol.
