Unofficial: Evo X - XXR Thread

Depends on the width of the wheel… I have 265's on my 9.5's and I think it looks good.

I wish it was 100. Right now it's about 40 :/

That's funny. The grass is always greener on the other side… I've been snowboarding almost my whole life and we pray for more snow… The nearest ski resort to us is 3 hours away and the snow only lasts about 3-4 months (if we're lucky)… other wise we have to drive all the way up north or go out of state. I'm originally from the same town Shaun Whites from… He's lucky he gets to travel for snow
Anywho, can't wait to see the wheels on the X!

Need some advice.
I have a 2012 Evo. Thinking about getting the XXR 530 18x9.75 +20 in flat black and dropping the car on H&R springs.
Will I need spacers to clear the brembos?
Will I need to roll the fenders?
Will my stock Advans fit fine until the tread is done and I need new tires? and
How far do they stick out? Are they flush with the fender?
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I don't have 530's, but I have the H&R springs with 18x9.5 +20 and 25mm spacers and my wheels are flush. I'd roll the rear fenders just in case. I actually rolled my fenders the week after I got my car cause I knew I wanted tires and wheels anyway. Your tires will fit, they'll be pretty stretched.

So being a loyal evo x owner and downright cool guy, I figured I would test my XXR 527's so you guys didn't have to. You are welcome. I read all the reviews before I bought them almost 2 years ago. How they would shatter, fall apart and basically kill me.
So on Sunday I tested them. What I did to perform the scientific test was hit a bunch of sand in a turn in the canyons, which spun me so fast I didn't even have time to say DAMN. It threw me over a berm which according the person behind me got the right side of the car about 2 to 3 feet airborn. But wait, there is more. I side swiped a metal poll and then sideswiped a nice tree that saved me from a free fall which would have tested my life insurance policy. I was a treehugger for the first time in my life. Only for a few seconds though. I still dislike treehuggers.
The results of my test? There was a little chunk of metal taken out of the lip on the front wheel.
Wait, I read they would shatter and kill me. I mean anything inexpensive has to be dangerous. How much more scientific can you get than the relationship between price and safety?
Nope, I am still here. A little touch up and the rims have a lot my life in them.
Again, I sacrifice so you guys don't have to.

Big Bear. Was going up to do some photography.
Just the right side. New doors, fender, frt and rear bumper, hood and rocker panel. It's getting fixed now. Just sucks to be without it for about 3 weeks. Rental cars suck! Only benefit of the rental is I don't have to drive around parking lots for 15 min to find the perfect spot away from people. Estimate was 11k but I think it will be closer to 13 to 14 once the supplements are done.
One positive is I'm paying a little extra to get the fq400 hood. You have to look for positives in situations like this. Can't go back in time so no reason to stress. Besides, I spent from age 21 to about 35 running canyons on a motorcycles and never went down once. If this is the way the universe wants repaid for allowing me to live those years when I basically did everything on a motorcycle to kill myself other than putting a gun to my ahead, then I'll take it.
All those times coming around corners too hot on the bike and ending up in the oncoming traffic lane with no traffic coming at me was pure luck. I owe the universe something. Lol
Although I'm starting to think I can't be killed. If I knew there was heaven and hell I would have to think I'm not good enough for heaven and not bad enough for hell so they just leave me be. Lol if you would have seen how small the tree was that kept me on the road and how steep the drop off was if the tree wasn't there, you would be shocked. Lol that's the thrill of it though. No risk, no reward.

Ooof, be careful around that. There is a "won't happen to me" concept that is chaos based around chances, I forgot the name of it but it can ring true. An example is a skydiver that when asked why he continues to jump because his chances of death are exponential every jump... "I've done over 500 jumps, after that many, it won't happen to me".
He plummets to his death five jumps later.

Lol
I know I'm not immortal. Well I don't know because I haven't died yet but I'm pretty sure I am. It's just a discussion my long time friend and I had the other day about our motorcycle days when we were young and did feel immortal. Going back over those days we realized how many stupid things we did yet here we are. Then there is the guy that is a safe rider that gets killed by somebody running a red light. And by stupid I mean very stupid. 3 digit speeds splitting lanes in dead stop traffic on the freeway.
