Plasti Dip Evo X Hood/Fender Vents

Hey guys,

I drive a WW Evo X MR with the painted hood and fender vents and prefer the black on white look. I'm planning to remove them and plasti dipping them black, but am unsure how to do all of this. If anyone could tell me how to remove the vents & # of coats and such that would be great

Thanks!

Just PlastiDip over the paint, you can just peel it off if you don't like it, but there's no need to strip the paint or whatever. Other than that you just use the spray cans and go at it, not that much to it haha. Look up some pages on the Google machine, some guys do their whole car in the stuff.

Oh okay, got it. But my real question was how to remove the actual vents haha (my bad on wording haha), but its good to know other than washing the vents I can just spray it on!

You can kinda just figure it out by looking under the hood...

For the vents just undo the nuts and pull them out, i'm pretty sure the nuts are 10mm.

You have to take off the heat shield for the scoop. There are 3 metal clips and two black plastic thingies. Squeeze the metal clips with some pliers and pull them out and just yank the plastic things out, then you can undo the nuts on the scoop and pull it out.

I would advise against painting them on your car, there will be a lot of overspray.

Thanks yeah I figured out the hood vents last night, but had no idea how to go with the fender vents. Yeah I planned to take out the vents because of overspray too, so thanks for the heads up
