TE37SL Titanium Silver

I think I am one of the rare people in this world that like aftermarket silver wheels. Since my car is black, I prefer high contrast.

I have been looking for silver 6 spoke wheels for this car for nearly a year. I had my heart set on TE37 in Mercury Silver, but apparently needed a flux capacitor to pull that off, as that color was readily available from Mackin back in 2008, but not so much today without a special order.

So I looked for any silver TE37, then looked for Rota Grids in hyper silver (don't make that color anymore), and Option Lab (don't offer that color). I just couldn't find anything.

I had given up on silver six spokes until I saw there was a huge TE37SL clearance sales going on till the end of March, and one of the options was Titanium Silver!

So I hit up Mark at RavSpec to inquire about them. What an excellent shop! We're looking to do a highlight on their store soon, so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, I just got these on Friday night, and have been dealing with rain the past two days, so only have a few iPhone pics to start.

Titanium silver is a very matte color. These are extremely bright in sunlight, brighter than any silver I've seen without being too reflective, but in person there is no mistaking them for white. Deep down, I still think Mercury Silver is the best color ever, but this is a rock solid replacement.

These wheels are 18x9.5+22, are insanely light, and are the perfect offset to not rub with 265/35/18 Pilot Super Sports on coilovers. No rolling required.

Close up of the finish.

Installed. Definitely need to modify and clean that center hub of the rust since these don't accept center caps.

With center caps.

Let me know what ya think.

Those look great. Just not a fan of those stickers on these wheels. Going to peel off the Gramlight zsticker when i get my set.

Thanks! Regular TE37s take center caps. The SL stands for Super Lap and they are just slightly lighter and meant for no center caps. There's an adapter to make them work, but it's overwrought and asininely expensive.

It looks like a pure silver to me. Interesting color choice! It plays well with the color of your Evo.

I love the contrast in colors. I have the same theory in picking wheel colors vs car color. Perfect!

Thanks all! Got hub centric rings, but have a minimal wheel balance issue. Back to Discount Tire I go.
