2014 WW MR "Beauty in Design" Build
Hi guys, this is my build thread for my 2014 WW Evo X MR. I'm new to , my previous cars (starting from most recent) include '13 STi sedan, '10 MINI JCW WC50, '12 MINI Cooper S, '11 WRX hatch, and '10 GTI.
With every car, I learn something new and with the STi, I learned a few things:
-To use only the best products or I'd end up spending more to fix it down the line
-Modding past the car's capabilities will really get you into trouble eventually (good 'ol EJ reliability )
-Mod for yourself, not for others
With my Evo, I plan on using only the highest quality parts even if that means modding at a much slower rate than I had previously as well as limiting any mods that serve no functional purpose. This car will be modded with the goal of a fully developed well rounded Evo for both the track and the street. Using only the best products, this car is meant to be a track day weapon without overlooking everyday reliability and functionality. Aesthetically I've always modded somewhat conservatively and prefer the OEM+ look. For me, form always follows function and I've never been into the stance or slammed mindset.

I picked up the car on 4/7 from the dealership with 8 miles. Made the first available appointment at Detailer's Domain for their new car prep and opticoat. Opticoat is a product that essentially adds another layer of clearcoat to your paint for optimal protection. It can be washed, waxed, polished, etc just like the factory clearcoat. For those not familiar with Detailer's Domain (located in north NJ), they are THE premium detail shop on the east coast. I had followed them for years but was never able to convince myself to pay for professional detailing. Since I had the opportunity this time to start from scratch (I requested the dealer leave on all the plastic covering that comes from Mitsubishi), I wanted it done correctly, right off the bat.
My friend shot these that afternoon at a local park. These are the first photos of the car since I had been driving it with the plastic wrap

Parts came in today - gotta rid of all that chrome!

got a cool JDM OEM keyfob pouch!

Öhlins before installation! So pretty
after a VERY long day @ CBRD
here's a quick shot of the new ride height with the Öhlins Road & Track Coilovers, I'm gonna try and take some nicer photos later

Finally got a chance to take some new photos of the car!
Golden hour
Finally starting to look more aggressive - needs a front lip though
So happy with the stock brakes, they're feel so much better than my STi
Gotta love the recaros
Next up: aftermarket navi and wheels!

Nice! Can't wait to see the progress!
My best friend has a Mini Cooper S. It's on coils with BBS'. He's a big 6'5'' black guy. Everyone loves watching him get in and out of his car… but that thing was super quick.

-black headliner
-gauge sweep on start up
-rev warning on gauge (not in WRX anyway)
-i think i liked the radio better, it was simple but there is no BT audio lag
That's about it. I put about $4k into suspension on my STi and a stock EVO is leaps and bounds better
