Has anyone seen or heard how much a second set of TPMS Sensors would cost I only plan on running two sets of wheels?

So 80 per sensor then 70 for all of them to be calibrated? Where was this through a dealership?

Somebody has GOT to come up with a valid aftermarket solution to this problem. I for one do not want to run around with some rube goldberg pipe setup in the back of my car to get around this. And besides I like the idea of having the monitor onboard to give an indication of a tir loosing pressure.

You would have to think that the BBS rims on the MR have a different profile then the normal rims so they might have a different shaped sensor that could work with aftermarket rims...

Does the pipe-bomb trick work for you guys? This info floated around for a while on the STi forums since last December too...
but
Subaru uses pressure sensors that also conveniently enough,
decide to measures revolutions per minute at 30second intervals and send that information to a reciever in the car.
So we can't use the pipe bomb =\
Edit : found pics of ours -

Yeah and we have the same deal on expensive *** sensors(almost same price i think) from dealership + recalibration fee.

to date nothing has worked EXCEPT pulling the light on the dash(lol)
;-)
the mitsu needs the sensor within 2 feet of the unit so Im now working on 4 small "bombs " and fixing them to the frame.

My supervisor at work pulled his TPMS sensors out of his Cobalt SS/SC and put them inside his donut and inflated it to proper pressure. He alsocaries around a full size spare as well, so that won't be a problem. We don't see that many cars with TPMS (yet) where I work, but since ALL cars manufactured after Sept 2007 are mandated to have them, I think it's just something we all need to 'find a solution' to because it's probably not going to be going away.

yeah the mitsu system looks for a sensor on each wheel so just putting them together doesn't do it...

Are there any adverse affects to running without the TPMS besides the light coming on? Is it a special TPMS light, or general service light. I want to make sure that i can pass the track day inspections. Does it go off again once the stocks are put back on?
Im planning on a second set of rims for track days, but using my stocks for everyday. I dont think ill spend the extra cash to get TPMS just for that.

So I guess that you can not just move the tpms sensors over to the new wheels?

Should just be a seperate dummy light. At least these new ones are valvestem based, the ones on my old Z were little pill shaped that protruded into the actual hub of the wheel.
