Tire Pressure Sensors: OEM or Aftermarket?

Well yesterday I went to the dealership to checkout how much the tire pressure sensor would cost, turns out they want $588 I wasn't thinking that much for sure. Now before you say swap out the ones from the stock rims, these are going to be for my summer rims. So I'm gonna have two sets. Should I go for an aftermarket set or stick with the oem units? Then if I do go aftermarket which ones would be best? Thanx

What! $588! I work at a tire shop and when we order new ones, the customer pays between $50-$60 for each one. They are ripping you off big time! Damn stealerships............

Can anyone confirm that these sensors work with aftermarket wheels? Thought I read that somewhere.

Once these "new" OEM ones are installed, you have to take it to the dealership and have them calibrate them or so i've heard. Should be $60-$80.00 for that.

Yea man, the stock ones will work with the new CR Kais. You could have just swapped them out each time. Dismount/mount/balance is about $55 here in my town, so you could have changed them out 5 times for $275.

Someone needs to try out the pipebomb trick.... I will in about 3 weeks, if no one does until then.

antics with the re30's said he drove around with his stock wheels inside the car, with the tpms's installed on them and he said it still went off, so i dont think the pipe bomb trick will work
