Lowering Springs vs. Coilovers

Well I know with coilovers you have to get them bad boys overhaul after a while but with lowering springs you use the factory struts/shocks and you don't have to touch them after you install them (kinda like factory set up). Coilover are very versitale ...setups for track/street/drag....springs your pretty much stuck with what you got. I hope that helps a little.

Advantages and disadvantages to both.
Good springs will ride better then almost all coilovers, especially if you have Bilsteins. When you slam the car, then yeah, your ride quality will be crappy. So will your handling. Same goes for coilovers FYI.
It really depends.....not all springs are the same and not all coilovers are the same. Some coilovers suck, some springs suck.

i want to lower the car for better performance, but i also want to be able to raise them for the snow, so i guess coilovers are my only options, thanks for the help

+1, especially in the case of GSR models upgrading to Swift springs, which happen to progressive, the ride quality actually improved while performance is increased.

I also had better experiences with Springs, don't have to worry about perfect adjustments and x amount of turns bla bla
My eibach's are coming tomorrow, should I worry about camber?
I had teins (2" drop) on my VIII and had no problems at all

For normal street, you don't need to go as extreme as coilovers.
Especially if you don't intend on going through the process of getting an alignment everytime you raise/lower your car. It can be a hassle.
If looks are your main priority, then lowering springs will do the job. Coilovers leave you an option to eventually get to play around with the car, ie. track.

A good set of springs will do the trick if youre only gonna cruise it on the streets.
If you plan to spend time on the track a set of coils is the best $$$ you could possibly spend (besides tires and track time).

Plenty of EVO 8 and 9 people track or auto-x their car on GTWorx and Swift springs with great results. Coilovers are (usually) better here but not everyone wants to pay for it since you can get a pretty good upgrade from springs and swaybars that will be cheaper and ride smoother.
