Question All season tires? What are you running/getting?

What tires are you all going with? I'm considering the Yokohama ADVAN S.4. tires for my Evo. We get a couple months of snow here in KY so I'd like to go to an all season tire that still performs.

I hear the Yoko S.4. tires are good. Any others that should be considered?

Thanks,

-X

I just had a set of 245/40/18 Continental ContiExtremeContacts mounted yesterday. I've heard a lot of good things about them and they are supposed to perform well in snow. I've only driven they for 15-20 miles but already I can tell they're quieter than the stock Advans and steering is less responsive. I'll post up a more thorough review when I've got a few more miles on them.

Im a fan of the General UHP. They are the only snow rated ZR tire that I know of. They weigh the same as the Yok ADVAN's and have a great tread life. I had them on my last two Evo's and Ill be getting them for the X. The price is great too.

I just brought a set of 4 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus at 269.99 per tire at CostCo. They are rated 4 1/2 star on tirerack.com and they had a A/S tire test with 3 other tires and this one came in first place.

Put a set of these on my wife's Audi TT and after just 6-8 months of use, there was a dramtic shuttering when the brakes were moderately applied. Assumned allignment, balancing or brake wear but dealership told me it was the tires and if I replaced them it would not happen. I did not believe him but did note the tires had worn considerably for this relatively short period of time. Problem got worse so I replaced them and sure enough braking is perfect! I guess sometimes you get accurate diagnostic information from a dealership. Bottom line: I will never buy BFG tires again.

Later, Ken

I will be running Goodyear Eagle GTs. I'm trying to milk every last ounce of tread from the stockers before the next snowfall.

Continental Extreme Contacts. Have used them on all my cars for winter here in Michigan and always gotten through the blizzards with ease. Best all season tire and not badly priced. A lot of people overlook them.

I have been running the Yoko S4's for a little over a year now and love them for good all around. Not saying they are the best because they are not as good as a deticated summer or winter but for an all-seasons I love them.
