As pointed out earlier these 09 X tires [Dunlop] are half as expensive as the Yoko A13c. Dyno4 indicates that a 20 point difference in the UTQG is really not a significant change in wear. So the only parameter difference in the performance claimed by others herein is the speed rating; the Dunlop has a "W" rating [168mph] while the Yoko a "Y" [186mph]. However, there is another variable that is not quantified that could also account for the perofrmance difference in these two tires and that is the tread design. I do not know how or if this , in fact, does affect performance.

Tirerack lists the dunlop for $197 vs advans for $320.

STI owners have had mixed feelings about this tire.

I have these tires on my Euro spec '08 GSR SST and I don't have anything good to say about them. The review posted from the STi owner is quite consistent with my findings, which can basically be summarized by two words: poor grip.

I will be changing to either Direzza Z1 Star Specs or Advan AD08s (not sure if they will release this size?) shortly.

So it appears from the users that Mitsu, in 09, has provided a step down when they switched from the Yoko to Dunlop. I agree with earlier posts that this was probably the result of the price differential between these two tires. Bottom Line: When a car company changes their OEM components, do not think they are necessarily improving or even maintaining the performance of the vehicle relative to the previous year.
