All season tires Need help will 245's be too stretched on 9.5" rim?
Alright guys my Flat black rota Grids are coming in just a week.. I plan on using these as my "fall/winter/early spring" rims. So I need a set of All season tires. Cheaper preferably as I plan on buying a nice set of rims this summer with some nice tires..
Anyhow basically I have choices, if anyone has used any of these tires let me know your experience.. Or if you know where I can get them for cheaper..
First we have Nexen N7000
From edge racing they are 424 shipped for 245/45/40 but will it be too stretched on the 9.5" rim? I can do these rims for $520 shipped in 265/35 if they would look bad from 245's.
I can do Falken Ziex Ze 912's in a 245/40 for $548 shipped..
My final choice is Kumho Ecsta ASX in 265/35 from tire rack for just under 600 shipped. Or I can do these in the 245's for 475 shipped..
Let me know what you think.. And think as cheap as possible..

245/35/18 will fit Check out Togue Factory's IX stretching some on a 9.5" wheel. Ideally you want 255/35/18 or 265/35/18 and if you can handle MORE rolling of rear fenders 275's (all sizes meant for IX's as X's can fit up to 285's).

Do NOT get the Nexen tires. The dealership put these on my Evo when I bought it used. They are absolute **** and will drive you nuts with their road noise. Take my word for it...

For daily driving, I suggest General UPH, they are cheap and grippy! They are also really quiet and does well in dry or wet. They have a 380ww thread wear rating, so it will last a while. From I heard, they do ok in snow too. The only down side is that it has soft side wall, so you are going to lose some responsiveness as a result, other wise they are excellent DD tires with great traction. I have them on my Evo right now, I think they might perform even better than the stock yoks in the rain.
Here are all the survey of all the tires. I feel that they are pretty accurate. They are listed under ultra-high-performance tire, but they have a M+S stamp on it. I have yet to test them in snow.

I think I'm going with the fallen 512's. I've considered snow tires however we don't get a whole lot of snow here, maybe off and on for a month. The main thing is these tires will be on the car 5-6 months a year. With the summer being ran with a stcky tire on different rims(not decided yet).

dont be cheap with tires that you will put on your expensive evo
get good perfromance winter tires like
michelin alpin2
conti winter sport 3d
or default to blizaks
no need for super speed ratings and you can get a size smaller say 235/40/18 to save you a few bucks and get better handling with narrower tires
