+15 or look at a different wheel. Much easier if you went with something with a slightly smaller offest. Rolling the fenders is an easy job, do it your self. Rent the tools to do it. Plenty of places online that offer it.

i have 18x10.5 +15 with 275/35/R18 and just rolled rear fenders....it works great...I honestly think 18x10.5 +15 isn't enough...our Evo X are blessed with huge fenders from the factory

Do you have a lot of people that sit in your back seat? If I didn't, I could have gotten by without having to roll them. I drove around for about 4 weeks and the only times I would rub would be when someone was sitting in the back seat OR quick dips in the road. I started to learn where those dips were so I could avoid but I think a lot of the rubbing depends on the tire size you choose. And since no 2 tire companies measure 265/35/18 the same you almost have to find someone who has done it before for verification.

My process was this -
Install Springs
Install Rims and Tires
Go get an alignment
Gauge how bad the rubbing was
Procrastinated for 4 weeks since it wasn't really that bad
Rented rolling tool, took 2 hours
Enjoyed

I have these wheels and had to use spacers. They hit the brembo's front and rear. Rears hit the suspension too. They fit fine with 15mm spacers. Added $140 to overall cost. That was with 245/40/18. Now it's time for new tires and Tirerack is saying that 265/35/18's will rub the suspension. Is that true? Or, they will work because 38mm minus 15mm equals 23mm?

It will probably rub the fenders, if you roll them it should be fine. Your tire selection plays a big roll in this also, if you rock a Nitto NT05 that is more likely to fit without rubbing than a Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec for example because Nitto's run narrow and star specs run wide.

Thanks - I'm trying to determine if I will need to roll the fenders with Hankook V12 265/35/18 on RPF1 18 X 9.5 ET38. They have a 10.7 section width. I already have the wheels.

I can't help people live out in the sticks....

anyways... local shops here... and even around here you need to go out of state to get them rolled. The closest shop from Northern VA is near the PA/MD border and they charge $150 to $200 for all four fenders depending on how much they have to roll.

I am sure some of you know this but throwing offsets is different depending on the wheel you are talking bout. SInce the OP initially inquired about RPFs, go with the +15. On a X, you can run a 265 fairly easy as long as the car is not slammed.


+38 Offsets are generally run by the Subaru folks.

I was thinking of picking a set of these up in 9.5 + 15 and running them on 245/40/18. I am looking for a decent price and quality wheel to replace my bent stockers and I keep coming back to this one. I don't, however, wanna drop it and because this is my dd. Will it just look like an awful 4x4?

yes they WILL look aweful in 4x4 stock suspension. Just drop the car with Swift Springs... they do not lower the car too much... I believe about 1.4 inches. Even with these springs, you will still have to run some negative camber so they are not sticking out. And Swift springs are great for DD. Many people here will tell you they don't make the car bumpy. You can also research them yourself. The Evo at the top of this page is dropped on Swifts... notice it does not looked dumped.

I don't even think you'll be able to fit a 265 on that wheel and get it in the fenders, +38 is like stock wheel offset and the wheels will be too far inset to tuck that amount of tire. I'd sell them/trade them for a +15 which is what everyone with an evo x runs for the most part, myself included. If they do manage to fit in the fender wells with the 265's on that offset of RPF-1, you will definitely have to roll them

Just to clarify...there are two types of Swift springs, Swift Sports and Swift Spec R. The sports lower it a bit, the Spec R lower it more, closer to the Eibach drop but about 1 finger less and handle way better. It won't look that bad at stock height it would just look better dropped on springs at the very least even on stock sized tires. If you go say 265 or 275 it will look goofy though at stock height.

RPF1 9.5 +15 on Swift Spec R's 265/35 V12's no roll and no clearance issues.

Hey guys, I just bought a set of re30's 2pcs 18x9.5 +15 and 2 pcs of +28, I'm thinking of getting a 245/45/18 or I'd go to 255/35/18. Would this fit in without any issues (rolling)? and I'm going to drop it slightly lower than stock height. TIA for your replies
