Nitto NT-05 Tires
#16
Well, I was looking at the dunlop Z1 star specs, but now these have my eye. It's hard to say which is better, since ryan hasn't run the star specs to compare, but based on the review, I'm pretty sold. It's amazing how much of an impression someone can have when they have credentials like ryan does, lol. If some shmoe came in here telling everyone how great the nt-05s were, no one would even bat an eye at them. Well, I know what my next set of tires is gonna be now. Thanks for the review, ryan.

Discount Tire Direct has the NT-05s listed for $219/tire with free shipping, compared to the Direzza Z1 Star Specs at $254/tire. If the performance is similar between the two, it seems like a no-brainer.
EDIT: These prices are for 265/35-18, should have mentioned that the first time.

Just got a quote from discount tire direct for the NT05's shipped to canada.
The total would be $828.00 USD shipped with all duties, taxes, and brokerage included to alberta, if any canadians were wondering. (this was 245/40/18's)

Don't order just yet, I've sent a few emails and phone calls looking for the best price. Locally I get the same answer, no info/pricing. But knowing tire prices for Canada (even ordering off of canadian sites) is ridiculous so even with the additional fees of ordering from the states, it might be our best option.
BTW, I got my tune done. 330@30psi on 91 is what they wanted to send me home with...I was appalled, turned it down to 25 and got the final number at 327. Your torque numbers are higher than mine though, i think(@work, don't have the sheet)

Nice tune, who'd you go to?
I desperately need a re-tune. Im sure they could extract some more power.

Nitto site says that the only local dealers in Edmonton are Kal-Tires. I know a handful of managers/owners of Kal-Tires, and all of them just say no info avaliable or have a message waiting for them. Before I order I'm going to NEED local pricing just by the offchance that it would be slightly cheaper. Convenience is the least of my worries. We still have a few months before we have to worry about having these on our cars. Hah, I'm still running my RT-615's from last season .

Lightspeed. The numbers are decent, but there's more to the story.

Maybe we can work out a deal.

Man, if star specs were running $250 ea, I wouldn't have bought mine I don't think. $182 was what tirerack was asking for them in Oct. Are they really that much all of a sudden?

Local store quoted me 246$ CAD per tire (245/40/18). With current exchange rates, it's better to buy local.I find it hard that the quote I got from the states includes brokerage, rarely ever do we find this true
