Nitto NT-05 Tires; Installed! Impressions. Pics to follow!

I just ordered the new NT-05 tires from my local store here... for 245-40-18's they were $167 a piece. Not too shabby actually. Once I get them mounted and what not I'll give some initial impressions and pics. Should be maybe Friday, or next week...

**UPDATE** Got them installed yesterday, and I'm getting my alignment today. My initial impression is these tires are badasses... very grippy and excellent turn-in. Sidewall feels a bit stiffer than the factory Advans. I haven't had a chance to really flog them so far, but I feel they will be fantastic for autocross and the road track. Very impressed so far. I'll take pics today and post them up a bit later...

I'm curious to hear some impressions on the NT-05s. I have to buy my summer tires within a few weeks, and they might be on my list.

^ I was about to ask you what you thought of them. I didn't realize you ran them until I saw your pic on Nitto's site under the NT-05 section. Thanks for the link.

So I noticed these are listed with the street tires, not the comp tires like NT-01. Is that because the tread design has more water drainage...or is the rubber harder?

You may want to check with Ryan on that one... his intial review on these tires is why I'm giving them a try. It was these or the Dunlop Direzza Z1 star specs, but Ryan's review sold me on giving these a try first. They should suit my needs pretty well... occasional track days and autocrosses but aggressive mountain driving constantly.

From what I heard on other forums, yes, they do pretty well in the rain.

Yeah, I kept checking on Discount Tire's website to see when they were available, but it's not updated apparently. I called today to get a date for release and they were able to get them ordered up for me.

I was deciding between the Falken RT-615s and the Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs, but Blacktrack's review has me thinking about these Nitto NT-05s now. Decisions, decisions...

Just curious, does anyone know if the NT-05s run large, small...?

Smallish. My 275/35's ran closer to 265/35's.

How much smaller are we talking?? I ordered the 245/40-18's... as long as they fit pretty much like the factory Advans I'll be ok with that.
