Looking at the pictures it seems to me what they called ice is in fact a frozen lake covered with snow.
Only studs tires perform on pure ice. We do not see ice very often on the road (In colorado at least)
To have fun on the snow and to go really fast you have to disconnect the ESC.
then the car is fun.
I won't recommend using the EVo with summer tires on the snow. It perform very poorly.
but with a good set of snow tires (Blizak or X-ice ) this car is alot of fun.
An air pin that you will barely make at 15MMph with summer tires can be taken at 60Mph with ASC disconnected

I think the article talks about different snow tires they recommended later on (though I'm not sure if what I posted included that portion), so this might be an image of them, since the other tire they recommended was obviously fitted on the Evo and STI.
