Well its that time....11k miles

Looking for some good all seasons(live in PA) that will enable me to throw the car around like the stock advans, but will be a hella lot better in light snow.


So far im looking at
Michelin pilot sport
kumho ecsta
pirelli pzero nero

Any thoughts?

I bought Advan 4s ultimate performance all seasons. According to tire rack, they have close to the same dry grip as the OEM Advans, better wet grip and 3-4 times the tire life.

I had the Yokohama Advan S4 on my Scion. Very good, predictable, stable, road handling ability. Pretty decent in the rain and wet conditions. Good in light light snow, okay in deeper snow when new. Once the tire was down to 3-4/32's it was pretty terrible in the snow, but this was when the snow was about 6 inches and keep down pouring.

Best all season in snow hands down is the Continental Extreme contacts. Got me through some crazy snow storms in my old RWD Lexus which was normally a handful. Wear like iron and not horribly expensive.

I would go with guru ... as a matter of fact I did about 12 months ago .. I wore out my advans in about 12k miles... my car has about 25k on it now .. so about 13k miles on the Contential extreme contacts. they are not sport tires by any stretch.. but they made it through a bad chicago winter this year. Right now they seem to be at about 85% tread life. So with civil driving i think these tires could go 40k. I would give em thumbs up all the way

i also have the advan s4's on my evo they are very good and way better treadlife then the OEM advans...only difference is the OEM's were a little more responsive

well thanks for the help guys. I ended up getting them sooner then expected. The inside of my right front is totally worn. Im starting to see a felt kinda material.

i need to find a way to work tomorrow....i really dont wanna risk it.....

I ended up getting the potenza re960s. hopefully i wont be disappointed.

I have avids on mine and they are really good in the snow and amazing in the rain, no slippage and good traction especially for New England weather when it can be hott as hell one second and cold the next. Def recommend them. Not pricey either.

This. When I lived in NY the Conti Extreme Contacts were some of the better all seasons I drove on. Once I adjusted the tire pressures, I was very happy.

Continuation on this topic of tire recomendations...

What would the recomendations be for a set of all seasons with the following in mind:

1) VA winters have rain and light snow but don't really need heavy winter traction like in Northern states, would not be driven on really bad days
--- wet grip is probably the most important

2) best dry grip possible with #1 above being satisifed... don't have the money for a second set of summer/winter rims and tires
