Help from Those using 265/35/18

I am looking to get a new set of tires, right now I have 255/35/18. They look too small for me, like a low profile tire. I wanted to know if anyone had pictures of their cars with 265/35/18 and rims 18x9.5. Another question I have is if I will have to roll my fenders if I go with the 265/35/18. I just want a beefier tire, I would like to run 245/40/18 to give it that look. The only other tire would be 275/40/18 and that would mean I have to roll the fenders.

Does anyone have pictures from the side using the stock tires with 18x9.5?

This is what my car looks like right now, its has Eibach pro springs and 255/35/18 18x9.5

There are plenty of those set ups around, here is mine. Rota Torque in Yamaha Black 18x9.5 +20 offset with 265/35/18. Eibach pro kit springs. Near stock alignment. Only rubs in the rear with someone heavy and over a bump. I "may roll the rear slightly to avoid and rubbing at all even with a full car.

^^nice car, is it rubbing ruff on the bumps or is it minor, ie taking chunks out?

No chunks being taken out of tires, not even enough for a groove and I have been on these since towards the beginning of the year. I bought the car in Dec and now have 27k miles to give you an idea of just how much driving I do. And, it doesn't rub under any bumps, has to be major ones, the ones that make you wince.

This is while people are in the back, it may have rubbed once or twice without people back there. Still, no damage to any of the tires, no noticeable wear.

It will be a stretch but 245/40/18 are rated to fit up to a 9.5 wheel.

Hey Slo4g63,

What Brand tires are those? How do you rate them so far for wear, performance, ride noise, and anything else?

My new tires will be here Wed. They are 265/35 18s. Then my rims are scheduled to arrive Fri. As soon as they do I am having them mounted. I will let you know then how that goes.

Its a cheapie brand like nexen or something. bought them new and installed for 300. just a temp fix. For the price, they are fine, I will not goto the road course with them of course, but for commuting and and occassional canyon run, they do decent.

As for wear, I have put on almost 20k miles so far on these tires and you can hardly tell they are worn. Ride noise is fine, I don't notice it hardly but I had high performance tires on my previous EVO that were loud.

I wouldn't recommend these unless you are on a budget however. For me, until next season gets here, they will do just fine.

I am feeling the same way right now, I currently have Star Specs but they are 255/35/18 and I want to go wider. I might just get some cheap **** till next year, the weather is not that great here and its only going to get worse.

Well guys I decided to go with 275/35/18. I will also be taking off the Eibach springs and putting on some Swift.

Don't forget to post what tires you're using (hopefully Nitto NT05's since they seem to be the hot ticket these days!), pics, and results/issues of clearances and such, I'd really like to know how the fitment works out! Thanks
