Front end rubbing on Advan RZ 19x10 +25 Hankook Ventus V-12 EVO 275/30/19

Edit: Fixed it, it fit fine. Took off spacers and saw it fit perfectly and the tire shop guy is a F'ing moron.

Hahaha yeah, I got a little excited and posted them up. The stock tires rode nice but they were just too soft and lasted only about 12k miles. The hankooks although not as smooth because of the compound of the tire, handle very crisp. They also channel water better because of the tread design. They are a little bit louder though then the stocks.

Is there a reason you went with the Ventus V12 Evo tires over say the Star Specs. I did notice that there is better treadwear rating for the V12's, and they are almost 3 lbs lighter for the same size tire as the Star Specs - was that part of you consideration?

I read some good reviews on the Evo K110 in Road and Track. Alot of good bang for you buck reviews that were rated pretty high. I was also disgusted with the tread life of the stock tires but I understand you give up life for grip and with such a soft tire compound on the Yoko's, they were bound to only last about 12k miles for me. I do not race my Evo on track at all. So, life of the tire was a huge factor in helping me decide. I also had to balance out not giving up alll peformance. Cost and availability was important too. The Hankook's were REALLY awesome with the price and after adding up the factors of life, tread design (which was pretty close to the star spec's design) and availability with the tire size. I chose the Hankook. Weight of the tire was not a factor for me. The reasoning there is this is my daily driver and I'm not on the track. I would have went with a softer tire, (lower tread life) if I was pushing towards more performance, but I had to give somewhere and tread life was too important to give up. Got a baby on the way and don't want to have to kick out a few extra hundred dollars for new tires after only 12k miles. Hope that was helpfull.

Sounds like a good potential buy for my next set of tires... thanks for the review.

So what's the story with the spacers? Tire guy said spacers were necessary for your wheels?

Yeah, the tire shop guy was telling me that they were going to rub on the inside wall against my BC coilover. He said I was going to have to put spacers on to keep them from rubbing but that in turn pushed them too far out past my fender. I would have to keep my ride height higher then what I wanted in order to keep from making contact with my fender. This wold end up defeating the whole purpose of why I got the coilovers in the first place. I ended up taking the car another place and started speaking to an Evo owner who just happened to work there. I explained what was up and he took a look. He took off the spacers and the tire fit fine and did not rub against the coilover at the top end of the tire. The other guy was just trying to either cover his a*s or really did not know what he was saying. After I took off the spacers, the tire fit perfectly fine in the front wheel well. I still had to roll the rear fenders which was not hard at all. The fender rolling tool is pretty easy to use. (along with some youtube instuction )

Thanks for the props on the car all. I'm really happy with how it turned out. Silver06evo9mr was the guy who gave me the ideas.

You should get those spacers returned to cover the costs.

glad you figured it out...I was surprised you'd rub those tires seem to run slightly smaller. I feel like I should have gotten 275's with my setup.

Thanks. I'm really happy with the 275. It fits very nicely and the handling is great. You got any pics of your setup?
