not to flame or anything, and i know it's what you don't want to hear.... but........ just saying it's kinda silly to put crappy tires on a $30-40k performance car. kinda defeats the purpose of having an evo right?

maybe you can try buying those tires you mentioned, but start saving up for decent tires, and change them out as soon as you have enough?

do not put cheap chinese tires on your car. It pretty much goes for any car. ****ty tires = ****ty ride = death because you couldn't stop in time or you spun out due to lack of traction.

lol ok I hear your plight but this is a little over the top... Obviously I am not using them to auto X in... If I loose traction with an all wheel drive car or cannot stop fast enough with brembo breaks while daily driving... I have more issues than tires...

"The Falken Tire brand, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, launched in its native country of Japan in 1983" Direct quote from Falken Tire Corp's Website. Don't know how you're figuring they are from china...

Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec's? One of the most popular and stickiest street tires out there! A set will be ~$800 depending on the size.

I have the Hankook Evo's and they are good despite a soft sidewall. I compensated for this by increasing the pressure to 45 psi. or so. The grip of the tires themselves is excellent. And they ride very well for daily drivers. finally, they are about the cheapest thing you can get and still have a good performing tire.

I'm using Sumitomo HTRs. Theyre around $90 a piece I think. They've been kicking it for 18k miles with some meat left. They had some negligible understeer going into a corner but were all game mid corner and exit. There is nothing wrong with cheaper tires on a $35k performance car so long as they're up to speed rating and performance themselves. Thats like saying you can't wear a cheap belt with designer jeans. Why not? Serving the same purpose at half the price. I have no reason to buy $300+ tires every 12k miles. But hey, smoke em if you got em.
