Weds SA-55M size question
Sorry for my ignorance, but will
18×9″ +20
or
18×9″ +36
fit without rolling the fendors? Will there be rub?
what is the size where you will get rub (biggest i guess)?
looking at getting Weds SA-55M but i don't want to have rubbing issues, and not sure what size to get.
also can someone explain offset to me please. thanks!

I've been told neither of the 9" options will rub. I'd be able to tell you for sure, but the most recent shipment from Weds Japan was nearly 3 weeks late. I got the +20 since it'll be a bit more flush. Supposedly this will not rub.
The most aggressive size that will fit easily is the 18x10 +18, which will rub but requires some fender rolling.
As a note, you should have put this in the Wheels subforum.

Thanks for your reply, I have been looking there for the last 20 minutes or so.
What i am looking for is almost a stock look, so the less offset the more flush? Does offset mean how far it sticks out of the wheel well?

Found it
Common upsize
The most common upsize that can be run without needing fender modifications is 18x9.5 +22.
Any lower offset might require you to roll your rear fenders.
Still no completely clear what offset is though

You will change your mind about those sizes you mentioned above and would want to go with 18x10 +18 after you seen these pics.

The lower the offset the further the wheel will be from the wheel hub (towards the fenders). 18x9 +36 will look almost exactly like the stock X wheels look in the wheel well (little bit sunken in). The 18x9 +20 will be closer to the fenders so closer to being flush with your fenders(won't be completely flush). I would go with the 18x9 +20 if u are worried about rolling the fenders. One day u will be dissappointed cause u wish u would have gotten a little bit more aggressive wheels then stock looking setup, trust me. Personally, I would man up, roll the fenders and slap on some 18x10 +18 I rolled my rear fenders on the weekend, it took about 2.5 hrs total(includes jacking up car, removing wheels etc) cause I took my time and man I can't believe how easy it was, just time consuming.
BTW I got SA-55M in 18x9 +36 BBM that I finally get to install this weekend. My tires will be here Fri

Why didn't you go with 18X10 +18 instead of the 18X9 +36?

I have an 09 RA, which doesn't have the wide fenders like the X (I wish it did) The 18x9 +36 is an aggressive setup on the RA. The 18x9 +20 will look good but the 18x10 +18 is frickin hot
