25mm rear sway bar and wider tires question
Hey Guys,
I have a question about my Evo IX GSR SE.
I'm going to be throwing on an adjustable 25mm rear sway bar this weekend, and changing my tires from 245/45/17 Falken 615 to the new 255/40/17 Falken 615k for my stock BBS wheels. I wanted wider tires so I can get more lateral grip, since I'm putting more power down compared to being completely stock when I last went to the track.
I hear with the wider tires, the initial turn in will be reduced a little, but I'm curious if the thicker rear sway bar will help at all with mitigating reduced initial turn in?
I know in mid corner the thicker rear sway bar s supposed to help with rotation, but I'm curious if it will help induce more initial turn in?
I plan on setting it on medium, to get a feel for it.
Further, what else can I expect on the track with the thicker rear sway bar, wider/better tires, and more power?
How much time can I expect to shave off my lap times from the sway bar, better tires, and increased power over stock - 324whp / 353 tq? This is assuming all other things equal of course.
For the most part, the weather is pretty good and consistent where I live.
I hear the 615k is about 1 second faster than the older 615. So that is a second just by changing the tires.
And to reiterate, will the thicker rear sway bar have positive effects with initial turn in?
Thanks in advance.
