Boiled the brake fluid!

Hey guys,

I have owned the car for about a month and a half. I decided to rock the track for a 2 day event, about half way through the day BOILED the hell out of the brake fluid. I was able to get some Dot 3/4 cheap fluid to get me through the weekend but I want to get something a little better. I am thinking motul RBF600, what is everyone else using? I hope to not boil it again tomorrow, we are running a 11 corner 1/4 mile course, its hard on brake and tires.

See my sticky. You need proper pads and fluid.

Amsoil DOT4 is what I run on.

Motul RBF600 is an awesome fluid for the price...I've heard that the Super Blue fluid is good too, but is hard to tell when it's dirty as it's naturally dark in color.

you need a fluid with high boiling point, AMSOIL and Motul are the top oils for under 13 bucks

RBF 600 is the 2nd best you can get next to the castrol juice that is $70+ a bottle. Run the motul as its dry is 600 and wet is I believe 420 something which is very high.

ATE Super Blue or Amsoil DOT4 for a street car. Both have great specs but last much longer than the Motul.

I personally run the ATE since it's 1/3 the price of the Amsoil.

Brakeman Xtreme6 5.1. About the same price as RBF600, bit boils at 612 dry, 400 wet. Much cheaper than SRF. Safe in our brake system. Only down side is that you probably have to order it directly from them. I'm yet to boil it, but I'm running RBF600 atm since I needed something in a pinch and could get it locally.

had super blue and it boiled at the Glen after few laps. Switched to Castrol SRF, no more boiling issues.

i did the same the first time i took my x to the track.

the fix for me was steel braided brake lines and dot 5.1 brake fluid.

no problems with boiling after that, and i was running stock pads.
