Cracks on stock Yokohama Advan tires

So I was swapping my stock rims/tires for my winter rims/tires this evening and noticed that each of the stock Yokohama Advan tires has cracks on them. All are along the part of the tire that is on the surface of the road, mainly in between the treads and multiple cracks on each tire (all in the same area on each tire).

Has anyone seen this before on the stock tires? Were they replaced under warranty? My stock tires have approx 12k km's on them (Canada, ehhh) and no mods have been done to the car.

Thanks for your help. I did a search but couldn't some up with something similar. I will try to get some pics over the next few days but it is too dark out right now to snap some photos.

Yep, have it on every one. Not warrantied. Still drive on them. Not sure about safety. Mine were cracked with 4k miles on them.

I snapped a few photos, each is of a different tire and the cracks on it.

Anyone else seen anything like this? I am going to bring one to the dealership tomorrow and see what they have to say...

Looks like tires that should be replaced under the tire warranty (ie. yoko, not Mitsu).

You might have to take it to a tire retailer to get taken care of though.

Mine did not cross the tread, just in the grooves. That does not look safe.

My guess is you were driving them in cold temps before taking them off for the winter?

I can see maybe one tire but all four with those cracks? I've driven on my Advans in early spring/late fall (probably comparable to winter weather for a lot of americans) and never developed cracks.

Do not use. Scrap those.

Doubt the tire company will warranty. But they can only say no if you ask.

So is it because they were driven in temperatures below freezing? I guess that would make sense if the soft compount freezes and cracks.

Never had to car out below 0 degrees C. As soon as it was supposed to get cold/snow out here, I changed them up for my winters. I sure hope they replace them under warranty, they have less than 12k KM's on them with barely any tread wear so by the looks of it, the tires are defective.
