I think it's funny how big of a deal everyone is making this out to be... 40lb isn't gonna make a difference on the street at all (especially in our 3500lb pig of a car). There's a bigger difference between a full and 1/4 tank of gas, is everyone gonna start putting in only half a tank now everything you fill up? The inconvenience of not having a spare when you need one far out weighs going .00352 mph faster on that on ramp...

Just take it out when you go to an autox or the track... Otherwise just make sure it's properly inflated.

How did you get your car down to that weight?

Mitsubishi provides FREE roadside assistance for 5 years with the Evo, having AAA is just wasting money since you already get the services for free regardless of miles.

"Towing to the nearest Mitsubishi Motors Retailer or other approved service point if your vehicle is not driveable."

When I used it, they asked me where I wanted the car taken and I told them which dealership I wanted it to go to, and it wasn't either of the two closest. The dealer can fix a flat tire just as well as any other shop. I am curious to know what the "other approved service points" are though.

Oh, well if I just needed a flat fixed thats another story. But rarely when I tow my car is it that simple

But its interesting about the other approved points too. I am guessing some sort of network of places, like other dealers maybe.

Just to give you an idea.

A few days ago, my friend and I hit the scales on the way back from a cruise.

2010 EVO X GSR - CDN performance package option
Spare tire and tools removed from trunk.
Back seats removed.
1/2 tank of fuel.
3395 lbs (Car Only)

Friends 2011 Mustang GT Premium with a half a tank of fuel.
3615 lbs (Car Only)

The rear seats don't weight that much. Seat back is the heaviest of the two pieces. Took less than 10 mins to take them out, so I thought what the hell.

You do realize that it's difficult to ever be more than a few miles from anything in Japan, yes? And you also know that it's quite easy to be in the middle of nowhere in North America, yes?

Good.

Because I was to derail this thread into a complaint about the lack of outdoor seating at my favorite restaurant on the moon.

Easy there tiger , was just stating a fact about my car. I live on an island so a service station is never too far . Also all of japan isnt metro toyko you should visit sometime loads of isolated country side and long roads.
