I figured that is how it should be. I took the car back there again today and still couldn't get it to work even after they reflashed each of the sensors, for some reason the car was not syncing with them. I called the dealer and they said to bring it there and they will try to get it covered under warranty.

Um. Do they realize that pinging and reading the sensors is Step One ... that Step Two is downloading the IDs to the ECU via the OBD connector? If they never connected to the car, then get your money back and move on.

When I went into the shop area to see what was going on he was plugged into the OBD port with the scanner, so I;m not sure what the issue was. Luckily they didn't charge me for the reflash, only the mount and balance so I'm not too upset with them.

I guess the dealer will know what it is they are doing. The service manager and I have a good relationship so he should be able to take care of this for me. Thanks for your help and info

OK. Then they were close. Maybe they just didn't have the right reader/writer or the 2008+ software. Other than a Mitsu tool, the only popular tool that works on our cars is a Bartec WheelRite 400, which not all tire places have. It's a $1600 tool.
