Need help choosing tire for 18x9.5!
Hey guys, I'm not too knowledgable when it comes to wheel/tire fitments and i've searched these forums for a while now(even the fitment thread) and I just need a little help on choosing the right tire.
I'm about to order me a set of black Enkei RPF-1s in a 18x9.5 and I want to get the Hancook Ventus V12 evo K110s since I read some good stuff on them and I don't want to spend too much $$$ on tires.
I'm having trouble selecting the right size tire. I don't want anything too small because I don't really feel comfortable having the sidewalls stretched. But I also read that if the tire is too big, like 265+, it'll rub on the fenders. I'll be ordering some Eibach Pro springs for it soon after.
Also, I prefer not to mess with any camber adjustments.
I WAS thinking I would be fine with a 255/40R18. But now I'm so confused from what I've been seeing on here.
Am I hopeless? Can anyone help me? I need to make a decision asap.

I have seen the V12 fit on the 18x9.5 +15 on an evo X in many sizes. 245/40-18 255/35-18 and my favorite 265/35-18.
A minor roll is needed for the 265s and it is the RS-3 that runs big not the V12.
They are also only around $165 each so the price works
Hope that helps!

if you want the stretched look... and you don't want to pay for slight fender roll i'd say go for it.

I'm not sure how much the size of tire determines the need for camber adjustment. The Eibach lowering springs and the size of the wheel ARE important. If you lower the car and/or put on larger than stock wheels and you don't adjust the camber, whatever tires you buy are going to wear unevenly and wear out prematurely. More so if you stretch.
You mention worring about the tires rubbing on the fender. The wheel et (offset) will have a significant impact on the tire touching the outside fender. If you buy wheels with an et +38, they won't touch the fender. If they are +15, maybe.
Personally, I have 265x35x18 Bridgestone RE-11s on my 18x9.5 +15 wheels. I rolled the rear fenders as a precaution, but they probably don't need it. It would be needed if I went 18x10.5 +12 and 285x30x18 tires.
Don't whimp out with a 245x40 tire. Regardless, good luck.

I'm having the same problem. I'm going to order RPF1's in 18x9.5 +15 and I'm confused about tire size. I know it's been answered but I want to get a second opinion. Which tire size makes the car look aggressive but does not need any pulling/rolling on my fenders?

I messaged the OP. I got the 255/40s because I didn't want mt ride to suffer more than it did. It's pretty beefy and looks great . Needs a roll in the rear.
