Kics LeggDura fancy locking aluminum ("duralumin") lug nuts

I figured as long as I was trying to get the lightest wheels possible I would also go ahead and get the lightest lug nuts possible. I know, it seems like a waste of money, but I think it arguably isn't. Anyway, attached is a pic of the lugs on my kitchen scale. As you can see: all 20 weigh 442 grams (a hair less than 1 pound). That makes each lug 22.1 g! (Each lug weighs about as much as four US quarters.) That's about as light as I could find anywhere.

I'm just posting this for reference purposes (in-case someone wants confirmation of the manufacturer's claims).

... Later ...
I bought a more accurate scale. It gave the same measurement (within half a gram).

I have these on mine as well. I like them. If you didn't know any better, you might think they were plastic they are so light.

Nice lugs!

It's the details that count, people who know what to look for appreciate the small things.

Project Kics makes good stuff. R40s are my personal favorite but everything they make is good.

I've been impressed by all of KICS products. The Duralumin lugs are definitely for the guys that want to save as much weight as possible, though. The R40 series is a great alternative for folks that don't need to drop every gram.

I can't speak to the durability of them yet. If I find any problems with them I'll post about it here.

Our studs have 12 x 1.5 threads. Note that "tuner" lug nuts (like these) and factory lug nuts aren't the same shape and are not interchangeable.
