Spacers and alignment

Just a quick question, installed gtworx springs a couple of weeks ago and taking my car in this Friday for the alignment. Do spacers make a difference in the alignment? I'm thinking about getting 15 or 20mm spacers for the stock GSR wheels but I may not have them until sometime after the alignment. Would I have to get it realigned?

Thank you

I'm not positive on if it will affect your alignment or not, but if I had to guess I would say it wouldn't.

15-20mm is a lot.. You may have to get some of the longer ARP studs.

Thanks, from what I have read some of the spacer already come with the studs build in.

Those totally slipped my mind. I was only thinking about the slip-ons.

Alignment shouldn't change by increasing track width through spacers.. 2 degrees on toe is still going to be 2 degrees of toe and -2 degrees of camber is still going to be -2 degrees of camber.

Thank you. That is kind of what I thought but I wanted to make sure. I am still going back and forth on the spacers but I need to get it aligned for sure this friday. It's a busy place and had to make an appointment 2 weeks out to get the alignment and I don't want to drive around too long after it has been lowered and had the roll center kit installed without an alignment.

I waited until my spacers were on the car before I got an alignment. Just wanted to make sure everything was all good together. I must say 15mm with stock bbs looks good!

Thanks. I am leaning towards the 15mm. Wish I could see them in real life. I just don't want the wheels sticking too far out. I don't really like that look.

slip on can only go to 5mm. Any bigger than that and you need bolt ons/extended Wheel studs. Make sure you buy Hubcerntric and not lug centric.

I've been using 10mm slip ons for about a month now.. Have there been any wheel stud failures on this forum?

I'm assuming my set-up will be okay, cause thread engagement is a few millimeters longer than the nominal stud diameter. I also don't track with this set-up. It's strictly for daily driving.

+1

If you are using the stock wheels, you will need hubcentric rings.

If you are using aftermarket wheels that call for conical lug nuts, you will not need hubcentric rings.

just in case anybody has the same question, my alignment shop said the spacers won't make a difference in the alignment at all. Thanks everybody for your responses.

If you have been running 10mm slip-ons with OE studs could you do me a favor? Please send me your full name, DOB, and marital status. I'd like to take a policy out on you. I'm assuming it will pay out before my kids go to college. Thanks in advance.
