Hankook Ventus V12 or Yokohama S-Drive

Very torn on these 2 tires. I currently have the S-Drives on my S15 here and absolutely love them for DD, but I haven't had any auto X time or use. These will be going on my stockers for now in 265/35/18 until I get my new wheels in. They will be strictly for DD with VERY little auto X ( like only 1 or 2 events if any ) when I am in for some R&R in July. I also read that Discount Tire Direct has a deal going on right now if you buy within the next day you get a 100$ card and an 80$ mail-in-rebate.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, also want to add, the new wheels are 18x10+18 in case that's a factor.

The Hankook Ventus Evo V12 got some excellent reviews so I bought a set for my '09 Ralliart about 18 months ago. I have not regretted it. They are great tires for DD.

I can't really speak for the Yokohama S-Drive. I have a set of Yokohama's on my 240SX (I forget which ones) and they are good tires.

I had the stock Yokohama's on my RA when I bought it and they were horrible!!! Those were the Yokohama Advan A10's.

Anyway, the Hankook's are excellent, IMO, best upgrade I got for my RA, and the first.

I have the S-Drives on my integra and I've gotten awsome results with them. I've done lite track days with no problems. I'm sure you would like the S-Drives on the EVO.

If I were to put either one on a track it would be the higher performance V12.

I went with the V12's. Couldn't pass up the deal, hope I made the right choice.

V12. Had them for almost 10k miles and the threads still looks meaty. Drives quiet and smooth. I got them for a great deal and couldn't be happier.

You made the right choice, I've got the v12's on my 9, DD as well, and couldn't ask for better. Enjoy!

The difference in design and weight of the two cars is so significant I suggest they are not comparable.

Hankook V12s suck ball sack. They have the worst sidewall stiffness.
Maybe for 1/4 mile track while doing burnout that's about it.
No contest try toyo brand, they are are good mix of performance n value.

Here's why this post is close to worthless. You are comparing a specific tire from one company (Hankook V12) to all tires from another (Toyo Brand). Even worse, the company that makes the specific happens to make a street tire (R-S3) that is better than any street tire made by the other company (Toyo), at least in terms of the characteristic that you mention as critical (sidewall stiffness).

Please put some more effort into your posts. It sounds like you might have some useful experience or knowledge, but it's not coming across at all. Thanks.
