Widest Tire Size for Stock BBS Wheels?

Considering tire options when stock Advans ware out. What is the widest tire size that can be fitted on stock 18" BBS wheels? A friend suggested buying wider tires when replacing stock to get a flusher look. Is it possible and would I have clearance issues? I actually like the stock wheels just wish I had wider beefier tires.

255/40-18 is the largest I would run.

looks like he drives an X.

if you are doing "performance" driving i would only go 245 on a stock 17" bbs, 255 on the 18" X rim.

I run 265/35/18 AD08s on 8.5". I would not oversize with anything besides a Star Spec or AD08 though.

Short of an RE070, those two have the stiffest sidewalls of any maximum performance tire on the market.

Good info, I loved my RS3's for Autocross and looking to run them on my new Evo X next season. Now just a matter of staying in B-Stock going wider / sticky tires or doing some mods for Street Prepared hmm..

Thanks for info!!

If you go to SP, I would get smaller brakes from Thompson Fabrication and drop back to 16" or 17" wheels. If you plan to get R-S3s, I would just get a new set of 245s and some spacers and run in STU. If you stay in Stock, then someone shoved something like 285s A6s on OE wheels with 5mm spacers and did quite well.

You're welcome, but I just noticed where you are. For STU in the cold and wet, I'd suggest StarSpecs, instead.
