evo x mr brake question

I have a X MR looking for brake rotor replacement, but i notice the MR comes with 2 piece rotors, do i have to replace the whole 2 piece or i can just replace the rotor ring? any aftermark ring can be direct bolt ons to the front piece without modifations?

what brand do you guys recommend, also pads too?

my car is for DD only.

Replacement friction rings: http://www.racingbrake.com/Rotor-Rin...406-04-311.htm

How many miles on your car? Have you considered just having your rotors turned rather than completely replacing them?

Were the stock pads performance-oriented enough for you or would you like something different?

my car si 23k miles, i didnt know we can turned the ring.....sorry i am new here.
the pad stock piece is good, but its very expensive, so i am looking for other aftermarket pads that are as good as them with lower price tag.

Odds are, with that many miles of just daily driving, you only need to hit the rings with a Scotch-Brite pad when you swap in new pads. No need for new rotors.

With so few miles, unless you're noticing a problem, I'd just do a pad-slap and not even worry about rotors. You are correct though, the MR and GSR share the same 1-piece rear design.

Stoptech Street Performance pads are going to be comparable to the factory pads, but at a much lower price.

Tough to give you an exact mileage, but definitely not after a single pad change unless they spent their entire life on the track. Hell, my stock rear rotors are still going strong at 65k miles, on their 3rd set of pads and haven't even been resurfaced. On the front I have some MR 2-piece rotors that I picked up used with 30k miles and track time...got them resurfaced and they're still within spec.

its funny that my shop tells me to change the rotor ring along with the pads for the front and change the entire rotor and pads for the rear. but they didn't ask me to go buy from them instead they asked me to buy it from somewhere and have them to install it. so i dont think they are trying to make money from me by telling me to change all these parts.
As I dont know how to look at these stuffs to see if they really need to change or not. then i dont know which way i should go for

Some shops can't resurface or cut a ring, so they tell customers to replace the ring. Very few shops will actually do a pure pad-slap (as in: not touching the rotors). Why so few shops will Scotch-Brite the rings and/or rotors is beyond me. It's pretty standard when changing pads on rotors that aren't damaged.

They'd rather sell you something to make more profit.
