Brake pads

I got a '10 GSR. My pads are 80% done. Just wanted to know what are the best brake pads out there for reasonable price. Should i just stick with brembos? (I'm on stock Breaks)

Brembos are the calipers.

Hawk HP or HPS are great pads. Just make sure to resurface your rotors to extend the life of the pads, and to give you better braking.

I thought brembos are just calipers to, but mitsubish actually carries the brembo pads as well. They want 350-400 for them

The factory "Brembo" pads are made by Ferodo. If you want a similar pad at a much lower cost get the Stoptech Street Performance pads. Performance is almost identical, but they are a little quieter and dust a bit less.

Nothing beats OEM as far as comfort and noise. If you're looking for maximum performance like I was, get the Hawk DTC-70 pads, they're serious performing track pads.

I've been looking around, and my stockers are NOISY. All the time. No matter how much I clean the rotors, they just scream all day...so I think I am going to pick up Girodisc Magic Pads. Supposedly pretty good performance, and very quiet. I just DD, so I don't need anything crazy.

I've used HAWK and RacingBrake Et500 on my other evo (MR, heavier than GSR) and will be using the RacingBrake Et500 again as I was extremely happy with them. Great performance, no squeaking nor dust. Hawk pads had no squeaking nor dust either however not as good performance as the Et500's. As for rotors, i didnt bother with it on the MR as they were lighter than GSR and 2 piece but for the GSR i will grab DBA 5000 front and rear to go along with the Et500s then I shall be set for my brakes. I aim for 420+ whp on 93, 390-405 whp on 91 so it will be perfect. Stock hp, no need to bother with brake "upgrades" except changing the pads ONLY because of squeaking and dust. Performance of stock pads are fantastic, just annoying as ****.

I also use RB ET500 pads for the street. Cheaper than stock but feel exactly the same. Good pad for normal street use.

Some good suggestions here, but just remember to properly "break-in" the pads when you get them (as per manufacturer's requirements). That will help with noise and life of the pad.

I like hearing squeaky racing pads now - lets me know that they are working lol...but if you do want a decent pad that is quiet and dusts minimally, then go with Kracka's suggestion: the Stoptech pads. If you want something else, and do not mind the extra dust and noise, call up Porterfield...they'll be able to recommend something for you...
