Enkei RPF1 18x10.5 +15

Does anyone know approximately how much power loss you get with the 10.5 w/ 275/35 compared to the 9.5 w/ 265/35? Will my butt dyno notice it on the streets? Also how stretched would the 265/35 be on the 10.5? If I do end up getting the 10.5 I'll eventually switch to 275/35 but would like to finish my current 265/35 set.

Currently considering RS05RR in 18x10.5 +15 as well, is the fitment the same as rpf1's of the same size and offset?

Cheers, Ken

You get power loss from bigger rims and tires? Someone please clarify cuz I didn't kno that.

265s are stretching it quite a bit on 10.5s tbh. But its doable because some evo owners do run the "stanced" look. Just as long as you drive nicely and not drive it too hard cuz the tires are stretching more than they are used to.

I have the RS05RR in 18x10.5 +15 on my Evo with 275/35 and I think that is the lowest you should go on a 10.5. any size smaller than that would sacrifice functionality IMO. Also I would be afraid of the tire popping

Are spacers required to clear the brakes?

No you wont need spacers, they clear the breaks just fine.
However you DO need to roll your rear fenders. Someone people roll the front ones too but that isn't necessary, just depends on how low you're going to drop the car.

Well more rotational mass will have an effect, hardly a noticeable one through in my opinion. When I want from the stock 18x8.5 wheels with 245/40 tires to my current 18x9.5 265/35 setup I couldn't tell a difference. Handling was improved, but power felt the same

You won't tell the difference unless you are at the track or make a big change to a lighter rim tire combo. The rpf1 is pretty light as it is, so a 9.5 to 10.5 will not be noticeable. My rains, for example, are heavier tires on a heavier rim than the slicks on rpf1s. I can tell, not just because it's wet, that my track out acceleration is reduced a bit.

Roll your fenders, btw, if you are going to go to coil overs and get the stance/ camber right.

This comment is so far from true and very misleading. 265/35 on a 10.5 is not severely stretched. It is the narrowest tire size acceptable to safely run by all major Tire companies and is a very common tire size for 10.5 width. I agree that 275 is a better option but to say that 265/35 is severely stretched on a 10.5 wheel is far from the truth especially since some 265/35 tires run wider than others

Ended up just buying a brand new set of star specs because they were only $800 NZD (~$530 USD) for a set of 4. Older stock though (prod. 2011) but should be fine for normal city driving.

Bought Work Kiwami (Ulitimate) 18x10.5 +15 instead because the RPF1's were a two month wait from Japan. Was pleasantly surprised when I did NOT have to roll any guards AT ALL. Very slight rub up front on full lock but decided not to mould the plastic because I'm too lazy.

Tyres are Dunlop star specs 275/35, lowered on swift spec r springs with bilstein shocks. Thought I'd put this out there as I couldn't find many people running the 18x10.5 Kiwami when I was trying to decide.

INTERESTING FACT: Installer told me that the swifts actually made the car sit higher compared to stock red (MR) springs and that's why no guard rolling was needed. Haven't had any passengers in the back though so might have a problem then but I still have a 2.5 finger gap at the rear.

I found some TE37s with the same specs and everyone told me that i had to go wide body to fit them. So what I'm getting from y'all is that i don't have to or am I just misinterpreting?
