18x9.5 +38 , will I need 10 mm spacers?

Looking into buying a set of the new cosmis racing R1 wheels in the hyper bronze for my pbp evo but they only come in a 18.9.5 +38 offset and I'm worried about clearing the struts. I Will be running a 255/40/18 in hope of not having to do any fender rolling. Any imput from you guys would be much appreciated

I'd recommend the 10mm spacers like you're thinking.

My "spreading internet speculation" note of the day...at 10mm, get the "pass-through" type spacers that don't have integrated studs. (Further thought...you may want to then get longer wheel studs). I personally don't trust 10mm to have anough "meat" to sufficiently support a wheel stud (the only whisper/internet heresay I've heard of spacer failure was with a 10mm spacer with integrated studs). The thicker ones (15mm+) should be fine.

Further thought: I run 18x9 +28 with that tire size (255/40) and I have plenty of room to the fender, and don't hit the struts. No fender rolling, no weird camber, etc. I do barely rub the inner fender liner/splash guard in the front when turning, but no problems at all in the back (heat gun and a wooden spoon fixed that). Unless the tires you've chosen run really, really wide, you should be just fine.

I don't know that it's a "trick" or anything, I blasted the splash guard with the heat gun until it was nice and soft, then massaged it away from the tire with the back side of a wooden spoon. The spoon is wide and has a curved contour, so it's a good shape and was less prone to me just pushing it through the semi-molten plastic. Plus, because it's wood, it doesn't transfer any heat to your hand. YMMV, nearly anything can work...I just chose a wooden spoon
