modded evo=beaten the shi* out of. make sure that the clutch, tires, and brakes, may all have to be replaced after you get it. just do a search and know what you are getting yourself into. i would say if you are only saving a few G's then dont do it.

I chose to follow a preformance path for 300whp reliabily and safely. The right mods can actually improve the drivability and gas mileage, let alone improve preformance.
A modded car is not always bad, just research the parts and who installed them. There is a big difference between some hack job and a pro install.

if it has 15k chances are it is a repo, and while i take care of mine, and plenty of people on this board do as well, but if the person that owned it kneo it was going to be repo'ed, then i would assume he didnt take great care of it. it would be hard for me to spend a few grand less on a used car, when i could save for a month and get a new one. chances are that car didnt get taken care of. when i bought my car, they had a used one with 10k on it, and wanted 30k firm for it. it was an 03 with a few mods, and had basically no warranty. i bought new, and paid about $300 bucks more for full warranty, and free service, and 6 miles on it instead of 10k. makes me sleep better at night.

Reading some of the stories and experiences people share on this forum make it pretty scary to purchase a used modded EVO as some people butcher and beat their cars pretty badly. I would only buy a mildly modded on. If you buy a heavily modded one, be prepared to unf*ck a lot of someone else's mess. Good luck.

Only if the mods are very basic. I have personally seen people jack up the boost without a boost gauge and blow their motors on eclipses. If the car has a boost gauge and a MBC, make sure they give you a ride to see if they are running more than 20 psi, if they are walk away.

yea as everyone above have said... get it checked by a good mechanic... even the evo can take a lot of beating and abuse... Personally, i wouldn't buy a used Modded one. But you never know... maybe it was good kept
